Introduction to Meditation
(approximately 60 minutes)
We will have a chance to share our personal experiences and explore what benefits mediation offers and the expectations of each individual. We will cover things like:
The fight-flight-freeze response
The physiological effects of stress
How stress impacts the brain
How meditation creates restful awareness and reverses fight-flight-freeze
How meditation works
Thoughts and the Gap
What a mantra is
Students will then be lead through a 10-15 mediation and afterwards we will have a bit of time to answer questions and discuss your experience. This class is the first step towards creating a healthy practice in your daily life.
After this first experience you’ll have some great tools to ease into regular meditation on your own. You will then be invited to schedule 1/2 hours sessions once a week for a month or so until you develop a practice that you are dedicated to.
I then offer a more advanced series of 4 classes in Primordial Sound Meditation. These classes are highly recommended if you intend to continue after the initial month.
• You will receive guidance on developing your own Primordial Sound Meditation practice.
• This is where you receive your personal mantra - which is the sound the universe was making at the time of your birth! I calculate this for you. It is based on the position of the moon to the earth as it was scribed by sages 1000 years ago.
• You’ll also receive an invaluable amount of knowledge of ancient Vedic traditions that you can incorporate into your modern life.
For me this is where I started to really understand a lot of things about myself and my life’s journey. It all just made sense and now I want to share that with the world.
Primordial Sound Meditation
(60-90 minutes x 2 sessions)
Primordial Sound Meditation, or PSM, is a simple yet powerful technique developed by Dr's Deepak Chopra and David Simon, to release stress and experience inner calm and deep relaxation. For thousands of years, people have used meditation to move beyond the mind's busy activity and emotional turbulence into profound peace and expanded awareness. In the age of digital devices, social media, and busy schedules, the restful awareness we experience during meditation is more valuable than ever. The term "restful awareness" captures the unique combination of physical relaxation and an alert yet quiet mind. The pace of life has accelerated, and every day we are bombarded with more information and stimulation than our ancestors encountered during entire lifetimes. Not surprisingly, the number of people suffering from stress, anxiety, insomnia, and chronic health problems is on the rise—and many are searching for peace of mind. The most direct way to experience inner silence and wellbeing is meditation, a tool to rediscover the body's own inner intelligence. As scientific research reveals, when you meditate, your breathing slows, blood pressure decreases, and stress hormone levels fall. You will receive your primordial sound mantra, based on your time, date and place of birth.

This is a chill space for students to be led into mediation and offered specific mantras based on the intention of the individual practice. EACH TIME IS A NEW EXPERIENCE. Let’s take a half hour to peacefully unwind and reorganize together.
